Complete the American Board of Laser Surgery (ABLS) Fundamental Laser Science/Tissue Interaction and Laser Safety Examinations. If successfully completed, these will earn you the ABLS Certificate of Course Completion in Laser Science and Safety (all practitioners); and a CME Credits Certificate through the SMA* (physicians only). ABLS Diplomate Status
Healthcare professionals, including physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses, who utilize lasers in their medical practices, can qualify for full Diplomate status by completing the ABLS requirements for study preparation and the Written Examinations in Fundamental Laser Science, Laser Safety, and also a specialty written exam in Cosmetic Laser and Light Procedures, Dental Laser Procedures, or Aesthetic Gynecologic Procedures (as applicable for their practice specialty).
